HemePlex Fe®: A Practical Guide to Iron Support for Hemoglobin & Healthy Red Blood Cells
If you’ve ever felt unusually tired, run-down, or short of breath during everyday activities, iron status is one of the first things many healthcare providers consider. Iron plays a central role in hemoglobin production—the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body. That’s why I wanted to share an educational overview of HemePlex Fe®, an advanced iron formula created to support the body’s production of hemoglobin and healthy red blood cells.*
HemePlex Fe® combines iron with key supportive nutrients like vitamin C, B6, folate, and B12—all of which are commonly included in formulas aimed at red blood cell and hemoglobin support.*
What HemePlex Fe® is designed to do
HemePlex Fe® is formulated to assist the body’s:
Production of hemoglobin *
Support of healthy red blood cells *
The formula emphasizes a specific form of iron: Ferrochel iron bisglycinate chelate. This form is described as well-tolerated, non-constipating, and more highly absorbable than many other iron forms commonly used in supplements. These qualities can help people maintain iron supplementation routines without the common gastrointestinal discomfort often associated with standard iron supplements.*
Why the form of iron matters
Not all iron supplements are the same. Many individuals discontinue use due to digestive discomfort. For this reason, iron bisglycinate chelate is often preferred, as it is known to be better tolerated.
In this formula, the iron is listed as ferrous bisglycinate chelate (Ferrochel), which is specifically positioned as a gentler, more absorbable option than other commonly used iron salts. Its chelated structure is intended to enhance absorption while being less irritating to the digestive tract.*
Why folate and B12 are included
Red blood cell production depends on more than iron alone. That’s why you’ll often see folate and vitamin B12 included alongside iron in comprehensive formulas.
HemePlex Fe uses 5-MTHF (L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate), a biologically active form of folate that facilitates rapid uptake into the bloodstream. The “L” form refers to its status as the reduced form of folate.
